Lucy Cai

Hi! I'm working on Instance, a robotics startup in the current YC S26 batch.

I just graduated from my BS/M.Eng at MIT, where I conducted research in the Learning and Intelligent Systems group at CSAIL advised by Leslie Pack Kaelbling. My project focused on the problem of interactive object search: how to get robots to most efficiently locate a hidden object in an unknown environment. I studied computer science (course 6-3) in undergrad.

In the past, I've also worked on satellite software at SpaceX, automated unit test creation at Amazon, and brain-computer interface pipelines at Blackrock Neurotech. In general, I'm interested in anything that sounds futuristic.
